Cricket events: what is decided in 2026, and what is still being played.

These pages cover cricket's main competitions: the ICC's World Cups, Champions Trophy and World Test Championship, the Ashes and other Test series, the franchise leagues, domestic first-class cricket, and cricket at the Olympics. Every result carries its year and its source, and where a series or league is still being played we say so and name no winner.

We use the ICC's and the national boards' own reports first, then established cricket media. Where a result rests on Wikipedia or on a search summary of a page we could not open, the page says so. Where sources disagree, such as on the venue of the 2027 World Test Championship final, we give each version and who says it. No prize money, salaries or other money figures appear on these pages.

  • South Africa v Australia Tests, 9 to 31 October 2026 (dates per Wikipedia). Australia won the first Test in Durban by 214 runs; the series is not decided. See major Test series.
  • World Test Championship 2025-27. The final is set for The Oval, London, from 9 to 13 June 2027, per the ICC's announcement of 23 July 2026; an ICC "State of Play" article names Lord's instead. See World Test Championship.
  • ICC Women's Championship 2025-29. The ODI league between Women's World Cups runs to 2029. See Women's ODI World Cup.

Upcoming

  • WBBL|12: 29 October to 5 December 2026 (Cricket Australia). BBL|16: the 2026-27 summer, dates not confirmed in our research. See other leagues.
  • Men's Cricket World Cup 2027: South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, 2 October to 21 November 2027, final at the Wanderers, Johannesburg. See Men's ODI World Cup.

Other titles decided recently

  • Under-19 Men's Cricket World Cup 2026 (finished): India beat England by 100 runs in the final at Harare Sports Club on 6 February 2026, India's sixth Under-19 title (ICC; BCCI). The ICC reports Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's 175 from 80 balls, in India's 411 for 9, as the highest score in an Under-19 World Cup final (through a search summary).
  • Men's Asia Cup 2025 (finished): an Asian Cricket Council event, not an ICC one. The final was India v Pakistan on 28 September 2025, as an ICC media release of 4 November 2025 names it, and India won it, according to an Asian Cricket Council headline. Neither source we use gives the venue or the margin, and whether the event was played as T20 internationals was not confirmed from an official page, so we give none of these.

Team rankings: the ICC's dated snapshot

ICC team rankings are rolling tables and are never final. We quote only the ICC's annual update of 11 May 2026, in which matches since May 2025 counted in full and those from the two years before at half weight.

Table, 11 May 20261st2nd3rd
Men's TestAustralia (131)South Africa (119)India (104)
Men's ODIIndia (118)New Zealand (113)Australia (109)
Men's T20IIndia (275)England (262)Australia (258)
Women's ODIAustralia (163)England (128)India (126; a search summary of the same article gave 124)
Women's T20IAustralia (287)England (275)India (264)

Two rankings have consequences on fixed dates: the ICC Men's T20I rankings on 31 December 2026 decide the remaining automatic men's places at LA28, and the World Test Championship table decides the two finalists for June 2027.
